Sarah Clark and Robert V. Clark lived in Rising Sun, Indiana with six children. Robert left for California shortly before his son, Charles Francis Clark was born on February 14, 1852. Sarah Clark and her children eventually moved West, and the family lived at various times in Austin, Nev., El Dorado, Coloma, and Sacramento, Calif.
